7 Dua to get good character and qualities

Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to pray for the grace and help of Almighty Allah for good character and qualities. Ummah Muhammadi also mentioned several supplications in the hadith to pray to Allah for the acquisition of good qualities. They are-

১. اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي لأَحْسَنِ الأَعْمَالِ وَأَحْسَنِ الأَخْلاقِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لا يَهْدِي لأَحْسَنِهَا إِلا أَنْتَ ، وَقِنِي سَيِّءَ الأَعْمَالِ وَسَيِّءَ الأَخْلاقِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لا يَقِي سَيِّئَهَا إِلا أَنْتَ

Pronunciation : Allahummahdini Liahsanil Amali wa Ahsanil Akhlaki; Faynahu la Yahudi liahsaniha illa anta; Wa qinil amaali waiyyil akhlaqi; Faynahu la yakbi saiyayaha illa anta.

Meaning: 'O Allah! Show me the path of best deeds and good character. Because no one else can find this path except you. And protect me from wrongdoing and bad character. Because no one but you can save from it.' (Nasa'i)

২. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مُنْكَرَاتِ الْأَخْلَاقِ، وَالْأَعْمَالِ، وَالْأَهْوَاءِ والْأَدْوَاءِ

Pronunciation: 'Allahumma inni aujubika min munkaratil akhlaqi wal amali wal ahwayi wal adwayi.'

Meaning: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from bad character, wrongdoing, vices and incurable diseases.' (Tirmidhi)

৩. اللَّهُمَّ أَلِّفْ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِنَا، وَأَصْلِحْ ذَاتَ بَيْنِنَا

Pronunciation: 'Allahumma Alif Bayna Kulubina wa Aslih Jata Baynana.'

Meaning: O Allah! Create friendship between all our hearts and resolve our (disputes)' (Bukhari).

৪. اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَيُّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لَعَنْتُهُ أَوْ سَبَبْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهُ لَهُ زَكَاةً وَأَجْرًا

Pronunciation: 'Allahumma innama ana basharun faiyul Muslimina la'antuhu aw saabtuhu fazhalhu lahu zaqatan wa ajran.'

Meaning: 'O Allah! I am only a man. So if I abuse or curse a Muslim, make it a means of purification for him (from sin) and give him his (better) recompense.' (Muslim)

৫. اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ وَلِىَ مِنْ أَمْرِ أُمَّتِى شَيْئًا فَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاشْقُقْ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ وَلِىَ مِنْ أَمْرِ أُمَّتِى شَيْئًا فَرَفَقَ بِهِمْ فَارْفُقْ بِهِ

Pronunciation: 'Allahumma Man Walia Min Amri Ummati Shay'an Fashakka Alaihim Fashquq Alaihi wa Man Walia Min Amri Ummati Shay'an Farifakabihim Farfuqbihi.'

Meaning: 'O Allah! If someone is responsible for a matter of my Ummah and treats them harshly, then you should also treat him harshly. And if someone is responsible for something and treats them with humility, then be kind to him.' (Muslim)

৬. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ، وَعَمَلٍ لاَ يُرْفَعُ، وَقَلَبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ، وَقَولٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ

Pronunciation : Allahumma inni aujubika min ilmin la yanfau; Wa amaline la urfau; Wa kalbin la yakshau; Wa Qawlin la Yusmau.'

Meaning: 'O Allah! I seek refuge with You, from knowledge that is of no use; From deeds that are not lifted up; From a heart that does not fear and from a word that is not heard.' (Muslim)
